Wisdom shines bright and
never grows dim; those who loveWisdom and
look for Wisdom can easily find Wisdom.
Get up early in the morning to find
Wisdom. To fasten one's attention on
Wisdom is to gain perfect understanding.
If you look for Wisdom you will soon find
peace of mind for Wisdom will soon find
you! Wisdom is kind and will be with you
in your every thought. Wisdom begins when
you sincerely want to learn. The desire
for Wisdom can prepare you to rule a
Kingdom! FIND WISDOM! (Advise From
Solomon)
FACING THE
IMPOSSIBLE
We all have seemingly
"impossible" situations that we
must face as we journey through life. One
day, many years ago, I read these words,
"I
say to you, if you have faith (or trust)
the size of a mustard seed, you will say
to this mountain (your problem), 'Move
from here to there.' and it will move;
and nothing will be impossible to
you."
Take a look at a
mustard seed. It's so tiny! One can
barely feel it, it is so small. If you
don’t have a mustard seed, then look
at a point on the end of a pencil.
That’s about the size of a mustard
seed. The mustard seed is about
1/20th of an inch in size!
In the parable of the
mustard seed size was used to make a
point: to illustrate something which
develops rapidly from small beginnings,
in this case, illustrates faith, or
trust, within an individual and the
exercise thereof. The "mystery"
surrounding a "development" was
likened to that connected with the
germination and growth of a seed. In
one's personal life, the development of
faith, or trust, often begins small. and
can ultimately reach vast proportions,
"leavening" all institutions,
philosophies and governments. The point
here is not the size of the seed but what
one does with it, thus, the issue is not
one of how much faith, or trust, one has,
but how he, or she, directs it. Faith, or
trust, is directional, not quantitative.
Now, it didn't take any
great "imagination" for me to
see the size of my personal problems!
They were HUGE! My big question then
became: Just "how" do I put,
whatever amount of "faith -
trust" that I might have within
myself to work for me? How do I make it
grow?
Almost by "divine
appointment," within days, I read an
interesting story. In the late 3rd
century, B.C. the people in Northern
Africa, in small Carthage, considered how
they could face the challenges presented
by the growing power of Rome. Their
military leader, Hannibal was a brilliant
man. He developed a bold strategy: he
would lead the Carthaginian army in an
attack on Rome. His daring plan proposed
a route that would take the army over the
Alps. . . using elephants! Thus the
attack on Rome would be from the West.
Many people were aghast at this idea;
they thought Hannibal had lost his mind,
saying, he has surely gone crazy!
However, Hannibal turned a deaf ear to
the people and, with courage and
audacity, sincerely believed that his
"impossible" idea was indeed
"possible."
When Hannibal
successfully led his forces across the
Alps, the Romans were stunned. They
experienced one defeat after another
against an army that was led by a man who
believed that anything was possible.
Hannibal's actions exemplified that
amazing things can indeed happen when one
has faith mixed with personal boldness
and courage!
At that moment I
purposed in my heart not to allow my life
to be overwhelmed by my personal doubts,
worries, fears nor to be intimidated by
other people saying "you can't do
that!" nor by obstacles that seemed
"impossible." I determined to
know and experience "mustard seed
faith."
Many people today allow
themselves to almost 'expect' defeat,
limiting their own potential with
personal inhibitions, being weak and
worried, lacking boldness and courage.
Thus they never reach within and discover
their own personal potentials, missing
out on exciting experiences and wonderful
victories their Creator has prepared for
them.
Learning to exercise
and allow "mustard seed faith"
to work and grow in my own life did not
come over night. It took time,
perseverance, and endurance. I made a lot
of mistakes. I faltered and fell many
times. I got back up, dusted my self off
and sometimes had to bandage some wounds.
However, the end results WORKED! It
worked for me. It can . . . and will work
for YOU too.
I extend my
"hand" to you as I share my
written words on the following pages,
hoping they will postively assist in
enabling you to develop your own personal
"mustard seed" and become all
that you are destined to be! ~ Sincerely,
CiCi
